with Larry Dapsis Do you think most people would know or recognize these little critters as being dangerous ticks.. They crawl undetected in places where you would never see them, beware when jogging or doing anything in the outdoors .. These could very well be larvae because they are less than the size of dot, nymph is still very small the size of a poppy seed and has 8 legs not 6 like the Larvae stage.. Via Larry Dapsis I agree...it's their small size. If you look at cases of Lyme disease by month you will see a peak in the summer. Nymphs are active from May into early August typically....they are responsible for 85% of all tick-borne disease! They are found in the leaf litter....permethrin-treated footwear is my weapon of choice for protection!
